About the Boosters

2011-2012 Orchestra Sponsors

Parents have many opportunities to support our Concert, String, Chamber and Symphonic Orchestras.   

ORCHESTRA BOOSTER MEMBERSHIP
    Parents of orchestra students are welcome to become a member of Orchestra Boosters - the volunteer, parent-run booster group that works directly with the High School's Orchestra Directors.  No membership fee is charged to join.  You are already one of us, as you support your student and the orchestra programs by attending the school's orchestra concerts. Orchestra Boosters meet monthly, usually in the High School Media Center at 7 PM on the third Monday of the month.  

    Details about our support activities, along with the dates for this school year's meetings, are in the Booster's News of Note newsletter.  Please consider attending our monthly meetings!  Participating is a great way to become better informed about school events and to become better acquainted with your student's friends and the music department staff.  If your schedule does not permit you to attend our regular meetings, please consider assisting with one of our parent support activities.  Volunteer forms are available on this webpage and in the newsletter.

ORCHESTRA SPONSORSHIP
    We also hope that you will consider donating monetarily to the orchestra program by becoming an Orchestra Sponsor.  All donations directly support the students and the orchestra program.  Donations are used for various purposes, including purchasing school instruments, providing scholarships to graduating seniors, and defraying student costs to attend the Orchestra Banquet.  Donations from the 2007-2008 school year were used to help the Music department arrange for Mr. Arthur Pranno, Director of String Studies and Associate Professor of Music at Florida Southern College, to serve as a clinician at our school for several days in February.  

    Mr. Pranno worked with our students individually and in small groups to enhance their overall skills and to prepare them for the upcoming District Solo Ensemble and OMEA Adjudicated Events.  Individual, family and business sponsorships are welcome.  Business sponsorships can chose to include a full or half-page advertisement in the school concert programs.  Sponsorship forms can be found on this webpage and in the newsletter.
